Currently pulling in visitors to the Paisley Museum in the High Street: an interactive exhibition charting the history of the Glasgow, Paisley and Ardrossan Canal. Waterways to Motorways has been created by the artist Colin Begg and the Work Matters Paisley group to bing to life the previously undiscovered history of the M74 motorway corridor.
The event includes exhibits from the former Glasgow, Paisley and Ardrossan canal including seven tea chests, each examples of the canal’s historical cargo as well as 19th century photographs of the canal and an interactive model of early 19th century life in the area.
Should be fascinating for anybody who can trace their Scottish heritage or family tree back to Paisley. The exhibition runs until 27 July 2008 and is just a short distance from the Watermill Hotel.
