Taxi from Glasgow Airport? Don’t feel guilty

Some of our guests feel bad when they get into a taxi at Glasgow Airport and say “take me to the Watermill Hotel”. After all, the taxi rank at Glasgow AIrport usually has 12 drivers waiting, ready to go to Glasgow city centre but secretly hoping their next fare will really be to Dundee or the jackpot - Aberdeen.
You would think, then, they would burst into tears (or something worse), when you ask them to drive to the Watermill Hotel just 10 minutes away.
Relax. When taxi drivers at Glasgow Airport get a fare to Paisley or Johnstone, or a similar short distance away, they are given a voucher, or chitty, which allows them to go straight back into the queue in front of the terminal as soon as they return. Then they can get back to hoping for that lucrative fare to Aberdeen.
