Are you planning your dream wedding? And are you looking for your prefect venue? Then why not visit us at the Scottish Wedding Exhibition at Braehead Arena this weekend. On Saturday, 5th September and Sunday, 6th September we will be hosting a stand at this vibrant wedding fayre and we would be delighted to see you there, too!

We hope that you linger a little longer at our stand for a friendly chat, however we’re sure you will find much else for your entertainment, – two live wedding fashion shows each day showcase the newest Bridal collections, as well as dresses for bridesmaids and flowers girls, stylish Mother-of-the-bride outfits and handsome kilts and suits for the dashing groom. Professional hair stylists and make-up artists are on hand to advise of the latest gorgeous styles, and the displays of wedding cakes and flowers promise to be breathtaking.

Photography is a serious business at any Scottish wedding but apart from the official photographer, there are always plenty of family members and friends taking impromptu shots of the big event. We love these informal shots but, unfortunately, we hardly ever get to see them after the big day.
That is why the Watermil Hotel has launched a fun Wedding Day photo competition. Are you having your wedding or reception at the Watermill this year? If so, send in your most entertaining informal photographs of the event – encourage friends and relatives to join in, this competition is not for the big, serious professional shots.
The winner will receive a second mini honeymoon for the happy couple, consisting of a night in the honeymoon suite, a bottle of champagne and dinner for two.
To enter, just upload your most entertaining photographs to Flickr the free photo sharing site. Tag them with the keyword “watermill hotel” so we can find them. Closing date for entries is the end of September 2009. If you are unable to upload your photographs online, please send them to us and we will be glad to post them to Flickr for you. Getting married at Paisley Abbey

Weddings in Paisley Abbey are deservedly popular; the ancient church provides a magnificent setting as well as an appropriately solemn and sacred place to tie the knot. We are just five minutes walk from the abbey – if you pick up your bridal train and hurry – which makes the Watermill Hotel an ideal place for your reception.
In case you think such a grand venue would be outwith your wedding budget, let us give you a quick run down of the current costs of getting married at Paisley Abbey.
There are three areas for weddings:
- The St Mirin Chapel hosts up to 40 guests with an accommodation charge of £130
- The Choir area seats up to 120 guests and costs £250
- The Nave can seat 600 guests and costs £450
The other costs for your wedding would be:
- Church officer £60
- Organist £90 (or £180 if filming a dvd)
- Flowers for the abbey £130
And if you want some angelic junior choristers to sing during the service that will cost another £96 (not each though!).
