Many overlook the White Cart Water – which used to power the old flour mill and the textile mill across the water – as well as the tumbling waters of the Hammills. But if you would prefer not to go to sleep with the sound of rushing water, ask for a room on the other side.

Being on the road on business is tough enough but it can be particularly stressful for business women travelling on their own.

We try to make things easier with our Women Preferred service, including an upgrade to a superior room where available as well as magazines. Also ask at the reception if bathrobes are available.

If you find it daunting to sit in a hotel restaurant by yourself, dinner can be taken in the lounge bar as an alternative to the more formal restaurant.

We do not think there is enough free wi-fi in hotels near Glasgow airport. After all, being able to connect with office and your family, makes life on the road a lot easier.

Fortunately guests at the Watermill Hotel can set up their laptops, iPhones or PDA’s in our public areas and surf the internet without charge.

In order to enjoy free wireless internet access, just come to reception and you will receive a password for the duration of your visit.
