Now that all the hard work of uni is over it is time to celebrate. And if you are searching for somewhere special to celebrate your graduation with family and friends, then come to the Watermill and have your party, large or small, at our Hamill’s Restaurant, Miller’s Bar or in the Gleniffer Suite.

Enjoy a delicious and well deserved meal to mark this special occasion with a three course Table d’Hote menu for £17.95 per person (includes complimentary personalised menus).

And should you require accommodation for friends and family arriving from afar, we offer special room rates for guests attending graduation parties.

Great news, – the Watermill Hotel is pleased to announce the extension of its premises.

Due to open later this year, we are very excited about the launch of THE BALLROOM, a beautiful, architect-designed function suite. The exclusive Ballroom at the Watermill will be tastefully designed and will hold up to 150 people – the ideal venue for meetings, conferences, exclusive galas and weddings and private parties.

We have uploaded the architects drawing for your information, for enquiries please contact a member of staff who will be happy to help.

Ooooohh how we love Valentine’s Day, – romance and chocolate, what more could a girl want?

And lucky for all you lovers out there, the 14th February 2010 falls on a Sunday this year. Ideal for a romantic short break in romantic Paisley, only 8 miles from Glasgow City Centre and all the fabulous shopping to be had there! Stay in one of our beautifully refurbished bedrooms, either overlooking the scenic waterfall to the back, or the historic town hall and Paisley Abbey to the front. Our romantic Valentine’s Dinner is served on Saturday, 13th February 2010, in Hammills Restaurant.

Valentine’s Menu

Scottish smoked salmon, rocket leaves and lemon oil

Sweet melon, peppered strawberries, champagne sorbet

Deep fried mushrooms, stuffed with pate, seasonal leaves, garlic mayonnaise

Goats cheese and beetroot stack, pine nuts and balsamic dressing

Breast of chicken, white wine, cream, tarragon sauce topped with asparagus spears

Grilled sea bass topped with prawns, lobster bisque

Medallions of beef with a haggis and whisky cream sauce

Green beans wrapped in bacon

Cracked black peppercorn mash

In the evening savour a delicious 4-course Valentine’s Dinner in Hammills Restaurant (see above for menu).

BBC Sitcom Location

You may have recognized yours truly when watching the BBC One sitcom “The Old Guys” recently.

Produced by BBC Scotland, the series features Clive Swift and Roger Lloyd-Pack as old guys Tom and Roy who live together and whose love interest is none other than gorgeous-at-62 Jane Asher.

And while you are laughing at the antics of the main characters you may notice the familiar surroundings of Miller’s Bar, used as a filming location in some scenes.

So next time you enjoy a meal and a drink at Miller’s Bar just relax, enjoy the comfortable surroundings and who knows, – the BBC might return for a second series and you may be asked to become an extra.

If you are feeling peckish and ready to spoil yourself, it is worth knowing that Millers lounge at the Watermill doesn’t just serve a fine pot of tea and an excellent latte or cappucino but you can also indulge in a proper scone (and in Scotland we pronounce it “scon” never “skone”) with jam and whipped cream.
