A riverside cycle route for Braehead shoppers

If you have the time and stamina, you can cycle from the Watermill Hotel all the way to Braehead shopping centre. The route takes you along the White Cart Water, the river which flows beside the hotel and then along the Clyde.

The route is described in Out There on Bikes, a new booklet, produced by Renfrewshire Council which describes the region’s cycle ways.

Out There on Bikes is available from the tourist information centre in Paisley town centre.

We like the idea the idea of cutting down on carbon emissions all the way to Braehead but it does beg the question of how you are going to carry all that shopping.

Children’s fun at Braehead this summer

There is free children’s entertainment every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Braehead until the 24 August.

You will find clowns, face painting, balloon modelling and magic shows in the West Mall (near Boots and Sainsbury).
